■ Engaru-cho

　　　　In the town, We fixed to leave the history of the Maruseppu area which took the lead in such forestry in a certain form. it is the Maruseppu forest park "Maruseppu-ikoinomori".

- Operation of a "railway-through-a-forest steam locomotive"

　　　　That one more was left behind as history for which forestry town is the railway-through-a-forest steam locomotive "Amemiya 21 No." which played an active part in taking out of a log.

　　　　We played an active part in the Maruseppu area in the factory in Tokyo till manufacture and Showa 33 in Showa 3. "

　　　By the way、Amemiya 21 No." would see construction 90 years in 2018, and commemorative in-the-snow special operation would be performed on December 8 and the 9th.

　　　　In Engaru-cho, it is domestic timber demand Development Center - "Mokuraku-kan " to carry out the duty which spreads worth of wood of Engaru, such as lumber and woodwork manufacture, if We will raise the demand of domestic wood although forestry still occupies the higher rank of the industry of a town.

　　　　The building of Mokuraku-kan is made from the product which carried out special processing of the wood.

　　　　Various wooden accessories, a daily necessity, a seasonal merch, etc. which were developed in Engaru are exhibited and sold at inside of a hall full of a wooden smell.

　　　　In "Mokuraku-kan", in order to aid production of wooden goods, such as a townsman, We are also undertaking the enterprise which stations one lecturer twice per month and opens a manorhouse by the name of a "work classroom."



▼ Charm part 3..."wisteria park of Hokkaido No.1"

　　　　　Engaru-cho is not only cosmos.
　　　
　　　There is "Maruseppu wisteria park" which is proud of the scale of Hokkaido No.1 in the heights in the Maruseppu area.
　　　
　　　From the beginning of June to the end of the month, 200 shares of flowers begin to bloom in a wisteria trellis etc., and many tourists visit every year.

　　　　The chief priest of local "Kosei-ji temple" inherits a young tree, and the root of this "wisteria" increases it every year in Showa 20.
